Dr Tegegne received his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Newcastle in 2020. He also received health informatics fellowship experience at the Australian Institute of Digital Health. Dr Tegegne is currently a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, Deakin University. He is conducting important research into digital health, particularly on wearable cameras in improving self-management behaviours in people with heart failure. He has expertise in epidemiology and data science, including machine and deep learning algorithms. Dr Tegegne is an early career researcher with a strong trajectory in research with national and international collaborations. He has an impressive research publication track record and is well placed to attract competitive research funding to support his research portfolio.
